Comma: Pack is a solution to limit the waste created by birth control blister packs. Comma: Pack is a two part design consisting of a single use, compostable chitosan bioplastic blister pack and a reusable silicone pouch. The reusable silicone sleeve integrates the blister pack into the design so the user does not have to take the blister pack out of the pouch when they take a pill - they can pop the pill out from the case.
Birth control blisters packs are non–recyclable and are landfilled or improperly disposed of in the recycling 10.6 million people in the US take birth control. Roughly 127 million birth control packs are landfilled and often end up in oceans harming marine life. Birth control packs also rely on petroleum based plastic.
