Stone, spring 21Shade: sprayed hemp pulpBase: composite from algae, hemp, and food wasteThis lighting fixture was an attempt to create a natural, yet etherial lighting experience in the home. Since hemp is a natural fire retardant, it felt appropriate to create a hemp paper shade. I got super invested in the process of spraying hemp pulp because it created a beautiful translucent, speckled textured paper. The base is also made from a hemp based biomaterial, coated with eggshells for color and texture.
